Shareholder return policy

Our policy has been to retain all earnings available for dividends within the Company and not to pay a dividend, in order to improve our financial structure and to strengthen our prospects for future business development. However, since we regard the return of profits to shareholders as one of management's key priorities, our policy in future is to consider any distribution of profits to shareholders on the basis of the scale of the business and the stability of its earnings, as well as the business' performance and financial situation. Where dividends are paid from retained earnings, payments will, in principle, be made once a year at the company year-end. We have adopted the interim dividend system stipulated in Article 454, Paragraph 5, of the Companies Act. The Company's articles of incorporation stipulate that the Board of Directors is responsible for all decisions in relation to interim and year-end dividends. With respect to internal reserves, we use these for the enhancement of our corporate prospects and for future business development, to ensure we are able to respond to any changes in the business environment as they occur in future.
